Job Chapter 18
Then Bildad spoke, "How long will you speak such nonsense? Gain some understanding and wisdom then we can speak Job. Why do you look at us like beasts? Do you regard us as stupid? You who tears at himself in anger. Shall the earth be forsaken for you? Shall the rocks be moved because of you? The light of the wicked indeed goes out. Yes, his flame shall be snuffed out. His home shall be plunged into darkness. No light shall be found in him. The confident steps of the evil man shall be shortened. All his decisions will turn against him. By his own actions he walks into a trap. His feet carry him right into a snare. Every road he takes is precarious, he is snared with a noose around his neck. Terrors surround him and he runs in fear. His strength is starved and destruction awaits him. Disease devours his skin, and death devours his limbs. He is torn from his tent, he is paraded before the king of terrors. Invaders conquer his home and all that he has is burnt in a fiery brimstone. His roots dry out in the earth and all his branches wither. The memory of him perishes from the earth, he will be remembered by no one. He is driven from light into darkness, he is chased out of this world. He is left with no son to carry on his name, no one, relative or other for posterity sake. Those in the west and those in the east will be astonished and frightened of his fate. Surely this is the destiny of those who sin, who choose wickedness. This is the inheritance of those who do not know God.”
