Poet, composer, musician, sculptor, painter, and author.
Steve is all this and more; philosopher, counselor, philanthropist, humanitarian, peacemaker ...
Steve is a husband, a father, an animal lover and caregiver, a hard worker, a community builder and a friend indeed!
The incredible gift of art has not been spared in any way to him.
Enjoy the sounds of his compositions, the wisdom in his lyrics, and the beauty of his creations.
Steve has written literally thousands of songs, which we hope to add more as we are able. I once asked him, "How do you do it? Your lyrics are so profound. These are are not simple rhymes to simple melodies." He replied, " When I am sleeping I wake up realizing a new song from a dream state. I fall asleep and sometimes this repeats a couple times in the night. When I get up, I start playing them and write them down."
That has never been my experience. Even when I am awake if I don't capture a tune and lyrics immediately, it is gone like a vapor. I have heard of other prolific writers that compose in the way he does.
We were talking about the composition of the music of Job and the text he paraphrased. I asked him, "How did you get the music to match the words of the story throughout this masterpiece?" He answered, " I didn't do it!" He sounded so serious, I was taken back a bit. I was hoping he did it, because it is copyrighted in his name. I forgot to mention above, he is humble, he is a Christian with a strong faith in God, and he has a great sense of humor. It took me a second or two to process his remark, but he has always given God the thanks and glory for his talents and accomplishments.
Steve has been my good friend and partner in music for many years. I consider it a privilege to be even a small part of the works he has single- handedly created, with love and respect from his coach and producer Robert McConnell.
