Job Chapter 36
Elihu proceeded to speak, "Suffer with me a while longer and I will show you that now I will speak on God's behalf. I will use my knowledge from afar and will prove the righteousness of my Maker. For surely my words will not be false for wisdom is with me in this. Behold, God is mighty and does not hate anyone. He is mighty in strength and in wisdom. He snuffs out the life of the wicked and gives freely to the poor. He watches closely over the righteous. He appoints kings to thrones and establishes them forever and they are exalted. And if they become bound in fetters and cords of affliction, then He shows them why the errors they have committed to cause such sorrows. He opens their ears, He disciplines them and commands that they sin no more. And if they obey Him and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasure. But if they disobey, they shall perish by the sword. They shall die as ignorant fools. But the hypocrite heaps up wrath upon himself and when God binds them, they do not cry out. They die in their youth, their life is among the wicked and unclean. But God delivers the poor in their affliction and opens the ears of the oppressed. He would remove you out of the terrible straights into a broad place where there is no hardship, where your table will be full of the fat of the land. But you have reaped the judgment of the wicked, judgment and justice have been delivered on you. Because there is wrath beware lest He take thee away with one stroke. Then it will be too late and even a great ransom will not deliver you then. Does God regard your riches? No, not gold nor all the forces of strength. Do not desire the night, when evil is committed. Take heed, do not desire iniquity, for this evil you have chosen. Is not your affliction the result? Behold God is supreme in his power. Who can teach Him? Who can sway God to his purpose or who can say, 'God you have committed iniquity'? Remember to magnify His work which all men can see and know it comes from afar. Behold, God is great and we know him not. His age cannot be searched out. He draws the water up into small drops to form a vapor canopy then disperses clouds to pour down rain and shower man abundantly. Also, can any understand the lightning in the clouds or the thunder that roars from God's tabernacle? Behold, He spreads His light upon us and fills the seas with water. For by the rains He judges the people. The showers yield an abundant harvest. With clouds He covers the sun and commands it not to shine. We hear His thunder within the clouds just as the cattle hear Him within the vapor."

Job Chapter 37
"At the flash of lightning and with the roar of thunder, my heart trembles. Listen to the thunder of His voice. It blankets the whole of heaven and His lightning streaks to the ends of the earth. After it, a voice roars, He thunders with His voice of excellency and no one can escape the sound of His voice. God thunders majestically, He does great things which we can not comprehend. He commands the snow to cover the earth, likewise He sends the soft shower or the storms to rain in His strength. He stops the work of every man at such times that all men know His power. Then the beasts head for shelter and remain in their dens for safety. Out of the south comes the whirlwind and from the north comes the cold. By the breath of God frost is given and the waters are covered in ice. He causes the thick cloud to water the earth until it is weary and once more light prevails. The storms of lightning are directed by His counsel. They go wherever He desires and do whatever He commands them to do upon the face of the earth. He causes the storms to come for punishment or for His land or for mercy. Listen Job, stand still and consider the wondrous works of God. Do you know how God controls all of creation and how he causes the lightning to flash from the clouds? Do you know the delicate balance of the clouds, the wondrous works of Him which is perfect in knowledge? Do you know why your garments are warm when everything is quiet or the south wind blows? We're you with Him when He spread out the sky in it's huge expanse like a molten looking glass? Teach us Job what we should say to God, for we cannot begin to know how to approach Him in our state of darkness. Shall it be told God that I speak to Him? If a man does speak so, surely he would be swallowed up. And now men do not see the bright flashes of lightning from the clouds, but the wind passes and the clouds disperse. Fair weather comes from the north. With God is terrible majesty. Touching the Almighty, we can not understand nor find Him out. He is excellent in power and in judgment, He is full of justice. He will not afflict. Men therefore fear the Lord God, for He has no respect of even the wisest of men."
