Lyrics
Job Chapter 25
Then Bildad the Shuhite answered, "Dominion and fear are with God. His power enforces peace in heaven. Who is able to count His armies of angels. Upon whom does the light not shine. How then can a mere human be righteous in the eyes of God? How can one born of a woman be pure? God is glorious even the moon and the stars are not pure in His site. How much less man who is a maggot, and the son of man who is a worm."
Job Chapter 26
But Job answered and said, "How well you have aided me when I am powerless and weak. How you have enlightened me in my stupidity! Your wise brilliance astounds me! Who gave you the inspiration for your worthless words? What spirit has possessed you to say such things? In Sheol the dead stand naked trembling before God. He stretches heaven over empty space and hangs the earth upon the void. He gathers the water together in dense clouds, yet the cloud is not torn by the weight. He veils the face of the moon by spreading His cloud over it. He draws a circle over the deep, a boundary between light and darkness. The pillars of heaven tremble at His rebuke. He divides the sea with his power and by His understanding He crushes its pride. The heavens are made beautiful by His spirit, He pierces the rushing serpent. See these are but the minor things. He does a whisper of His power, but the thunder of His power who can understand."
Job Chapter 27
"As God lives who has taken away my rights, the Almighty who has embittered my soul, as long as I live and breathe my lips shall speak no evil, my tongue shall speak no lies. Far be it from me to say that you are right. Till I die I will vow my innocence. I am not a sinner, I hold onto my integrity. My conscience does not convict me, not one single day. Let those who declare otherwise be as my enemies. They rise up against me as the unrighteous. For what is the hope of the Godless when God cuts him off and takes away his life? Will God hear his call when troubles come upon him? Will he delight himself in the Almighty? Will he always call on God? I will teach you the hand of God, the Almighty's plan I will not conceal. Indeed you yourselves have seen it. Why then do you indulge in your futility telling me worthless things? For this is the portion the wicked shall receive from God. If he has a multitude of children they will die by sword or if not famine. Those who survive shall be brought down to the grave alone, with no one to mourn them. He may amass great wealth, but the just shall wear his clothes and the innocent shall divide his silver. His house is fragile as a spiders web, as a leaf He blew, to be blown away. He goes to sleep rich to awaken with his wealth gone. Terrors overtake him like a flood in the night a whirlwind carries him away. The east wind sweeps him away with no pity into eternity. With no mercy God hurls at him unsparingly. He cannot flee from God, men cheer at his death and hiss at him into eternity."
Job Chapter 28
"Men know how to mine silver and refine gold, to take iron from the earth and smelt copper from stone. Men light the darkness going deep in the earth to obtain the ore. They know how to obtain their food from the earth while a raging fire lies beneath. Sapphires and gold are discovered among the stones. There in the deep lie treasures no bird of prey or the eye of the eagle can see. No wild beast or fierce lion has walked there. He puts His hand upon the rock and uproots the mountain. He cuts channels into the rocks and lays bear the precious gems. They dam up the streams of water and bring forth what is hidden to light. But where shall wisdom be found,? Where is understanding? Man does not know how to find it, for it is not found in the land of the living. The deep says it is not with me and the sea says it is not with me. It cannot be bought with gold or silver. It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir, in precious onyx or sapphire. Gold and glass cannot equal it, nor can it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold. Coral and crystal are not worthy of comparison. The price of wisdom is above pearls. The topaz of Ethiopia cannot compare with it, nor valued in pure gold. Where then comes wisdom and where is the place of understanding? It is hidden from the eyes of all living. Concealed from the birds of the air. Destruction and death say, we have all heard a rumor of it with our ears. God understands the way to it for he knows its place. He beholds the ends of the earth, He sees everything beneath the heavens. When He gave to the wind its strength and set the boundaries of the sea, He set the law for the rain and a path for the lightning and the thunder. He declared wisdom. He established it and searched it out. And to man He said, 'Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom and to depart from evil is understanding'. "
